At B1 you could state a position. At B2 you have to hold one while somebody argues back, and that turns on a single move: grant their point, then keep your own.
Spanish makes that move with aunque, and aunque takes either mood. The choice is not about whether the thing is true. It is about whether you are telling them or reminding them.
